Whats on your workbench???

Recommended Posts

My new Fendt 728 has been upgraded and now passes muster.

The radiator grill is now grey instead of black. The wheels have been sprayed Fendt red. Exhaust numberplate removed, new 73 reg rear number plate added along with Thurlow Nunn Standen dealer decals.  A very nice model indeed.

whilst the printers down, i have been sorting the shed out ,new shelfs stuff like that, but i did manage to get the blue trailer done, this ones been stained with the wood in place and i have found it trys to warp the trailer when its wet, seems it expands more than i thought, have tried a slightly weaker stain this time as well, question is red versions stain or blue versions stain

Needed the wheels off this for a project I've wanted to do for 40 years or so ,so thought these would go nicely as replacements, though had to modify centres, hubs and add circlipped ,keyed shafts.

Was it Bedfordia farms had one like this back in the 80's?

Hope the project will materialise in a few months.....

been fighting a really really bad case of man flu this weekend 😂😂😂😂 so not been bothered to much about the shed, but have been sat doing more work on the trailer tyres, first 2 pics were my original attempt, the next to, what i think i will settle with ,now to find a sensible priced rubber resin, or do you think  a coat of tamiya rubber tyre black would be ok??

Those grooves are really deep Sean, they will be very difficult to spray, but will look the part, Black Plasti Dip latex rubber aerosol realy does look like rubber, You should give that to go, Could you  print the tyres and centres seperately, painting the centres and wheel studs will be very tricky after the tyres are painted, ???

They are deep and i do have another one part done cad wise with a shallower rib and a small amendment to the outer cleats? /tread , just softening them a bit , but it takes ages to do , and to be honest for a print ready set of 6 tyres its a bloody big file as well , bigger than all the trailer files added up , 110 meg plus so theres a fair bit of data in it

James any possibility of you making a tilt hard top for a Britains LWB Land Rover  series 2 ?

I started to develop one with the swb, but came to a stop when I realised a kit really needs doors and a bulkhead too as they're often missing, and there's alot of variation in the bulkhead/windscreen. May get back to it before the spring.

Finally finished my scratch built Richard Western bale trailer, very pleased with how it's turned out. Model is mainly brass apart from the sheet for the bed which is plasticard. Used stickers left over from James Richard Western grain trailer kit, also wheels were from James. Now onto the next project not sure what yet...20240210122139_IMG_2306__01.thumb.jpg.f6a322c7cd1ddada3f8ccedfb9b713eb.jpg20240210122741_IMG_2330__01.thumb.jpg.c2a8dd3c7de125d3e2e161fd709914a2.jpg20240210122848_IMG_2334__01.thumb.jpg.b7bcd07aaca8f6d78a6ddd978b684f9e.jpg

splash of colour on the tyres, painted really well, and no obvious misses, tamiya black rubber, do have a revised set done as well, with more angled/rounded side cleats, slightly more shallow treads, but will use this lot up first. as once painted i think they look finealso got a set of 3 tines printed, just trying to decide colour, .have two trailers all assembled, along with two others printed, still on the supports, plus body and chassis for two more done,, just waiting on the drop side prints, which have had a small revision to them for ease of build
