Grand job there Ted :) not that i'm picking fault but a Landy tyre on one of the front rims would have just been a nice touch, though your yard man must be a good steady driver as there no damage to her.... a good bath and she'd be a show tractor

If UH had released the NH T4 or the Case Farmall with 2wd front axle and less fancy mirrors that would have made a decent scraper, and I've seen a newish Farmall dedicated just to that.  The Weise Deutz D52 looked the part but I wasnt confident enough to dirty up an expensive model!

Cheers joe, I’ve always fancied a UH t4 new Holland I recon that would be a good scraper tractor. I do prefer the old Masseys , like the 690 390 240 etc but never got them when they came out and now the prices are mad:lol:

Cheers Sean, another project! I think the 360 was 3cyl and 362 was 4cyl ? have to have the enthusiasm to see the build through, I’ve been at this one for a while, I got a lot that Haven’t made it ^_^

Thanks lee :)

Cheers John, I was considering leaving it clean but I couldn’t resist :D

it would'nt have looked right Ted clean it's spot on your weathering

Started another barn, going for a cart shed and an adjoining exetention with a hay loft above. I have run out of stone sheeting so I’m going to use the last off cuts and weatherboard the rest:)

Not much done but its superb workmanship you do.

Cheers lee :) good to see your building stuff as well instead of buying it otherwise all the layouts look pretty generic

balsa is great for getting that old bent and twisted look ,used it a few times in old builds for that reason ,i think it will be the cladding choice for the poss granary build if i do it.a sheets nice and cheap .

Yes nice easy to work with , I’m going through a load of old balsa I have, some seems to be harder than others

Very nice Ted, I love watching your buildings come together. Really makes me want to get my arse into gear and make some progress on mine!

Sorry missed your comment John, I find it easy to run out of enthusiasm half way through a build as well:lol:

Not got a lot done recently, been busy with silage, but I had a go at weathering the roof sheets. I couldn’t get the rust and the black to look right So I decided just to go full on rust colour...

I’ve had idea, my diorama is made from 3 baseboards ,that sit on a shelf, which have warped and the back scene is looking rather poor. I’m going to transfer it all onto one big board, possibly 9 or 12mm ply with a better border. I’m also going to get another backdrop and mount it on some board. I might rethink some of the layout when I’m at it as well, just when I get a chanCe. I think now would be a good time as I am trying to revamp the whole thing anyway but I have started everywhere, so nothing is complete :D

roof looks ok to me mate, far better than my efforts, where will you get the back drop from, i keep pondering it, but could only really put it behind the main yard, the roof pitch behind the fields is way to shallow ,unless i just pit a sky scene on it i guess

It’s a tricky one, the one I’ve got is an ID Backscenes one from HLT. I think my farm really needs one as it’s not very wide so adds depth. I would like a Cotswolds one but not found one big enough and the Id ones are All set somewhere up north , not what I want. They say you can send you’re own photos but I wouldn’t have a clue. I have thought of sky one but I would have to cover all the bottom at the back. Pretty stuck for ideas as well

Stunning Ted simply stunning! I honestly don't know how you do it but you seem to make everything look perfectly natural and aged, without it ever appearing over the top, just love it! The boarding is just perfect, and the interior walls look great for what sound like a quick and relatively simple process?

With regards to base boards I'd recommend making one with a frame work, rather than just going for thicker boards. Grouse Knowl is built on 6mm MDF, with a frame work of 2"x1/2" pine batons underneath, so that it is supported in 2ftx1ft sections, yet to see anything warp and it's been stored in all sorts of conditions on all sorts of surfaces, remains nice and light to carry around too. I've attached a photo of the underside of a new baseboard I'm yet to start building on which is 4ftx2ft.

Brilliant idea James, never thought of building it up on a frame. I’ve done a bit of planning and I’m going to use 12mm ply and build a frame underneath with batons. Then I’m going to try attaching a backboard for the Backscene to stop it wrinkling up. Thanks for your advice I’m off to get some wood today:D

Got the new base made up, Used 12mm Ply and batons to build a frame underneath ( James’ idea) which then sits on a shelf. Surprised it how light it is. Started laying things out but I’m going to shift some things around now I’ve got a bigger area. Got my backscene as well.D6D68E37-7A59-43FA-9FA0-94AC5771D185.thumb.jpeg.8f89bded08482ebd7d6d8956c01e7cd2.jpeg1F1F66D0-F9D6-42EF-90E1-AA768FEA343F.thumb.jpeg.58926a660e0410f9cbccfb4c3c850b35.jpeg

That looks like a great bit of space to work with, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Not to sure what to do with it at the moment, thinking of having a few small yards. I find it hard to get a good looking floor tried out a new method for concrete with plaster which worked well :)
