Hi,  just spent some time reading your topic. You have a very fine eye for detail you have everything spot on it's a joy to see your work. Seeing this and what you can do when you put the time and effort is unbelievable keep up the good work.

Excellent as usual Ted, like Alf says, I don't think I've seen better! Bin bag looks to give a far better effect than insulation tape.

Cheers lads :D I got the idea of the foam lagging off YouTube a channel called ‘32Famer’ Really works well for getting the edges rounded but I still recon bin bags are slightly too thick, might try some with doggy bags haha

Thank you mate , a lot of trial and error! There are equally some stunning dioramas on here and hopefully more to come. At least we’ve all got a lot of time now

Finished off something I’ve been meaning to do for ages, a lister bale elevator. Quite pleased with the weathering in it as it’s going to be parked at the side of the yard somewhere...Also been working on water slide decals for it

That is just stunning!! Would love one of those !!

Cheers Zac , ya never know :D  hats off to the scratch builders , it’s tricky stuff , I thought it would be simple but the angles were pretty hard to get right. It’s still not very accurate which is something I’d definitely have to look at if I were to make more. I also had a lack of round plastic so the frame was all done in box

That's brilliant Ted, you've captured it perfectly, the colour is a really good match and the weathering's spot on  as well! I can also remember spending a lot of time at either end of one of those things! It was always worse at the top of the stack, especially if you were trying to squeeze bales in and the person at the bottom just kept sending them up......shoving a few back down off the op of the elevator usually slowed them up a bit!:D

Wow love that great work. I also remember climbing up it into the rafters of the old stone barn. Squeezing them bales in tight. Great work if you ever did more I'd certainty have one.

Cheers mate, if I do I’ll give you a shout ;)

Brilliant Ted, I was thrown by the real one, you have to look carefully to spot which is which! Very good.

Cheers guys, definitely a lot trickier to make than I first thought. Do you have any easy ways to get the correct angles when making triangles? Also do you use a special cutter for the plastic? Never really tried accurate scratch building

You are right it’s really hard. Especially when you are trying to produce duplicate parts. I always end up with an odd angle!

Finished off my 362 yard scraper today, felt like a long one. I had a crack at building a 2wd axel out of plastic and I drilled a hole through the casting and stuck it through.Had to cut a bit out of the bonnet as the 4wd ones didn’t have it as well as a chopped about grill from a 3080, I think. I made the waterside decals on Publisher as I couldn’t find any images. Britains wheels on the front and UH MF35x rears with Britains tires. As for the inside I removed the giant plastic seat and put a smaller one in, raised the floor in the middle and stuck a few levers in. The moulton scraper is made from plastic as well...B739A142-D7DA-41F8-B0C7-C4676ED4B706.thumb.jpeg.87f5647bdf70d92d96e424360c495520.jpegBBDC89EB-6DA4-4EC3-8B7F-00AF3AB12533.thumb.jpeg.a41ae17aba010a710b7e3627600d9a52.jpegE9BEABC5-6CE7-4038-91E9-719DD63B6168.thumb.jpeg.88cd1caa0bf1fd2124c2d0c5f1c99b97.jpeg92C306A9-9360-4733-967E-EBCCE3729A82.thumb.jpeg.f110b21a6ad01601a1879de31474580d.jpeg9EE40D3C-9BF3-406A-BD95-1D89ABF7E6F7.thumb.jpeg.b4912dd40eeed01de0003f94f7dae6dd.jpeg
Just about fits in the barn haha

That is excellent! I never was able to get a scraper tractor I was happy with, so much so I gave up on the idea.

Cheers joe, I’ve always fancied a UH t4 new Holland I recon that would be a good scraper tractor. I do prefer the old Masseys , like the 690 390 240 etc but never got them when they came out and now the prices are mad:lol:
