Hi all,

Got myself a new project: Caterpillar 950, scale 1:25, diecast.
Needs new color, and of course, a cabin, which i will make scratch.
Started off some time ago, trying to find time for it, in between lots of other activities.

Some pictures for a start:

also got the second flexi cab of its base and assembled, fits a lot better than no1 did, and the door is ok as well, this will get covered with a material outside to make a better fit, but  overall i am happy with it now, just waiting on a new motherboard for the printer now to do a full quality one

I bought a ROS Fendt 718 with the new nice wider tyres and promptly removed them, and fitted the rears to a pair of Kubota 7172 rims sprayed fendt red. Then sprayed the fronts the right shade of red as well. Had to modify the wheels a little to fit right by fitting a 3mm axle.  Got the wingmirrors fitted after one snapped! And the beacons glued on. Plus the number plate.  Another nice ex demonstrator on its way to Manor farm soon.

well that came out better than expected, only a quick test file/print after the rebuild, but size wise i nailed it, all by accident, little to old for a 240, but i wanted it for a 135, just cant find my spare one, front grill gaurd is ok, but wont fit the 240 chassis just now, ,will for the 135 though i think

I bought a Trion 750 from Manns of Saxham last week,  the model is ok and I do like the 1080 split reel header.

Its more interesting than a straight 930 version and doesnt take up as much room as the 1380 version. Only problem is it desperately needed painting..........................and so to work😄

Firstly I easily removed all its finger sets. And then bagged up the header and taped it as well as I could to stop overspray. I did try knocking out the centre spindle but it wouldnt shift and I didnt want to cause damage by over doing it.

so after washing the parts to be painted with white spirit I sprayed on the grey primer.

Touched in the parts that needed more red paint, and the green parts with a little red overspray.

Tomorrow I will paint the tines black to create the "convio" effect and refit them.  But very pleased how its going so far.

Be good to see how this looks when finished     the header is what's stopping me buying one, it looks a bit naff standard
