That looks excellent.

What scale is it? And who makes them (l assume it is made up in kit form?).

Thanks.

Hi all,

@JEP: This is a bulldozer in scale 1/24.

The current conversion is made by AMT, and originally it was put on the market as Caterpillar. Also by AMT.

Probably the license had run out of date in the meantime, so now the kit is called "Construction Bulldozer".

this is only the prototype, and i have altered a few bits already, stuff learnt from this, draw bar, hinge hole size(these are way to big) .also had a scare as it looked way to big, turns out had i take notice that the 6 ton and 8 to. are the same size body wise, just single axel and tip ram  or tandem axel and twin tip rams ,only big  difference is they dont do a 8 ton silage version officially.

That's turned out really well Sean, Very impressed, Reckon pin diameter would be a bigger issue than hole diameter.

Regards

Joe.

na, got a good selection of nice small dome head pins and nails, all are 1mm or less diameter, the model boat boys are good at stuff like that .theres also the good old brass rod if all else fails😀😀😀 need something to arrive first before i get any paint or wood in, see if its strong enough first,if not rethink and alter

I recently got 1.2mm and 1.4mm brass screws from the guys at Cornwall boats, and I know you like makeing your own planking. But Wood effect filament is really nice it has a semi rough finish plus you could sketch it up to the exact size to fit your trailers platform, could be printed as individual planks or as a complete piece.

Joe.

to be honest i dont think it would colour in as nice, this stuff will need staining down, as they were a darker timber, not seen any timber filament close to the right colour, plus it would mean changing spools over ect. once i sand the edges down to a angle it should do, plus for the amount i would use, woods cheaper overall. theres a set of tyres and rims currently printing .see soon how they look

Looks really good.

Looking forward to seeing it finished, with the cab.

Thank you John! Stay tuned, the day is coming it will be finished!

In the meantime you might wanna take a look at the whole process over here:

Although it's in Dutch language, the process is filled with a lot of pictures!

I think if you tried white flexible TPU the colour and texture might just be spot on, might be a little shiney but can't say as never used white,

Not tried printing it yet , only did it after i put the frame on , honestly recon i will just print it red in one go , save swapping reels , nothing a coat of primer and white wont cover , they were never pure white anyway ,i did mine in a racing white, has a slight hint of cream to it
